The 2025-2026 school year is about to start, and we want to make sure that you are prepared! Please read through this thoroughly before contacting the office with questions.

Important Dates
Friday, August 1 – Class assignments available on myDSD.
Tuesday, August 12 – Kindergarten screening from 8:30 am - 1:15 pm. Please sign up for a time on the Sign-Up Genius that was sent to guardian email accounts.
Thursday, August 14 – Back to School Open House from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. Come to meet your teacher, see your friends, and familiarize yourself with the layout of the school.
Monday, August 18 – First Day of School for Grades 1-6. Early out at 1:30 pm.
Wednesday, August 20 – First Day of School for Kindergarten. Early out on August 20th through 22nd for kindergarten only.
Monday, September 1 – Labor Day (no school) and deadline for optional Device Protection Plan enrollment.

Office Hours –
August 4th-15th the office will be open from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. On the first day of school (August 18th), regular office hours will resume from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm on Mondays through Fridays (excluding holidays and breaks).
Registration –
If your student is not enrolled yet, as a new move-in or kindergarten student, please come in as soon as possible! The main office has a registration packet ready for you!

Important Back to School Information
Transportation – To see if your student qualifies for school busing, please go to your myDSD account and follow the path Tools > Bus Transportation Info. This information may not be available from the district until a few days before school starts.
Displaced/Homeless – If you have been displaced from your home, please go to Documents | Davis School District for helpful information and forms. Please contact school administration and Taylor’s Family Service Worker (Sarah Young at saryoung@dsdmail.net), for assistance.
Fee Waivers – Elementary schools do not charge fees for classes and activities during the regular school day. If you are in need of financial assistance to have other school fees waived, please complete application (must be done annually): Fee Schedule/Waivers - Davis School District
Guardian Contact Information – If any of your personal information has changed (email address, phone number, emergency contacts, authorized people to check out your student, etc.) please contact the main office and ask for Katy or Nikki: 801-402-1500.
Health Plans – Student health plans need to be updated annually. If you have any questions regarding your student’s health plan, please contact Taylor’s School Nurse – Heather Story at hstory@dsdmail.net.
Identification – For the safety of our students, any adult entering the building or checking a student out early from school MUST show government issued identification.
myDSD – You will need a myDSD guardian account to electronically sign documents, pay for fees and fines, view grades, and more! If you do not have a myDSD guardian account, create one at Guardian Account Setup - myDSD. If you have forgotten your account information, recover it at Parent/Guardian Account Recovery - myDSD or contact 801-402-5600. Please sign into myDSD BEFORE school starts to do the following:
Electronically sign documents. There are many documents and forms that must be completed annually. Guardians must complete each form for each of their students. Students also need to sign in to myDSD with their student account to complete their documents and forms.
Pay for breakfast/lunch balance, fees, and outstanding fines.
You can add money to your lunch balance and pay your outstanding balance under the Payments tab. If you qualify for free or reduced meals, you may apply in your myDSD account, this must be done annually: Nutrition Services - Davis School District. Questions about lunch balances and lunch waivers can be directed to Taylor’s Nutrition Services Manager – Heidi Jacobs at hjacobs@dsdmail.net.
An optional fee is the Device Protection Plan. It is $25 and highly recommended. If you want to opt in, you must pay the $25 enrollment fee by September 1 to insure your student’s device for the school year. Without the protection plan, you will be expected to pay full price for any damage or lost devices. An optional fee is for the yearbook. You can pay $15 for it now on myDSD until January 15 to be guaranteed a yearbook, otherwise, a limited quantity will be available for purchase the last week of school for $17.
Any outstanding fines from previous years need to be paid. Any questions regarding these fines can be directed to Taylor’s Office Manager – Katy Gamble at kagamble@dsdmail.net.

PTA Membership – Please consider signing up as a member of the Parent Teacher Association. Whether as a member of the association, member of the PTA Board, volunteering your time in the planning and execution of events, donating money to raise funds, or donating items for events, we want you to be a part of the PTA! School Supplies – We do not require students to provide supplies from home to complete their schoolwork, however, teachers may provide a suggested list of student supplies that may be brought from home on a voluntary basis, otherwise the supplies will be furnished by the school. Contact your student’s teacher if you have any questions.
Social Media – Please follow us on our website and social media sites to stay up-to-date on everything! Davis School District is an “automatic opt-in” district for photos and videos. If you would like to opt-out from having your student included on social media, please see the Media Permission Letter on our Policies page. The completed form will need to be returned to the main office and completed annually.

Volunteering – Anyone who is given significant unsupervised access to a student in connection with a volunteer assignment must submit to and clear a nationwide criminal background check before volunteering. Please see more information on the Policies page.
